E-PORTFOLIO

Image
MY E-PORTFOLIO My Cover Letter to Dr. Kyburz Writing. Everyone has a different opinion about writing. I, on the other hand, love free writing, but when it comes to writing a paper, I hate it. I like to free write because I don't have to worry about grammar or not making sense. I could just write about what I think about, but in formal papers I have to be careful with word choice and punctuation, which is something I struggle with. When writing essays, I sometimes overthink the way I am writing something, so it takes me longer to write a paper. But when I free write, it helps me organize my thoughts. I will continue to practice writing and use the stuff I learned in College Writing 2 to improve my writing in the future. I learned a lot in College Writing 2, that I can proudly say I have improved my writing skills in many ways. We wrote four types of papers: microtheme, summary, summary and rhetorical analysis, and rational argument. I struggled writing all of my papers

Fall

Image
I LOVE FALL. Even though this year I feel like fall has been missed, and it went straight to winter. Fall reminds me of my birthday since it is in November. I love how the trees change colors, that is my favorite part about fall! I upload this picture since during December we had one day that it felt like fall. Paula, Isabel, Mariyah, and I went on a little stroll to the forest. There is a forest not too far away from Lewis, about 10 minutes, where we went for a little adventure. It was a fun time, because we are a fun time! I hope everyone has been be admiring the few fall days that we have been having. Because I LOVE FALL. :)

ITS DECEMBER 1ST

Image
It's December 1st, YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS! 24 days till CHRISTMAS! I love Christmas! Even though we have 2 weeks left of school and the only positive thoughts I have is thinking about Christmas! All these assignments, tests, and finals are stressing me out! I can't wait for Winter Break, and most importantly, CHRISTMAS! :) I hope everyone is enjoying Christmas movies and songs, and all the beautiful decorations outside!

Winter is Coming

Image
I love Winter, but at the same time I hate it. I love winter for so many reasons, Christmas is coming, snow everywhere, everyone decorating their homes, its just such a beautiful scenery. But i hate winter for one reason.... because of the cold! I absolutely hate when its cold outside! The picture I posted up above, is the most accurate definition of how I feel during the winter. Some of my roommates don't like the heat up high in our section. But me on the other hand, love it. So sometimes we do argue about the heat, and secretly turn the heat up or down. Some battles that me and my roommates have. :)

Admiring the Sky

Image
I am still so obsessed with the beautiful sunsets that I get to see everyday from my room. Living next to a soccer field and open fields behind it is amazing. I get to see the beautiful sky and the sunsets. This picture was taken on Monday by my roommate Paula. She has some really good photography skills! ;) Now that the sun sets earlier and it gets dark earlier, everyday we get to see the sunset and admire it. My roommates and I love taking pictures and watching the sunset.

Birthday Weekend

Image
Sunday was my birthday! I went back home this weekend to spend time with my family and friends. I had a really great birthday with my friends! Bu on Sunday, I came back to Lewis later on in the night. When I got home my roommates planned the cutest thing ever for me! They decorated my room and got me some cute little presents. They even got me my favorite cake, Oreo ice cream cake! I was really surprised and was not expecting any of this! Just wanted to give a little shoutout for my roommates because they are the best :)

Mood

Image
This handsome little guy is Buster. Buster is one of my roommates dog, that I got to meet this weekend! He is friendly, hyper, and loves the attention. I took this picture of Buster so that I could put it on here, on my blog. He looks so comfy and snuggled in his bed. This picture also represents my mood. I just want to be like Buster right now. Bundled up in my bed and just sleep for weeks. Especially today on this gloomy Sunday, all I want to do is sleep. I love naps, and most importantly I love my sleep!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN !!

Image
I hope everyone has a great Halloween! I love Halloween, even though I hate haunted houses. When I was in high school, there was a school near my house that always through a haunted house. It was always soo crowded, the lines were longer than the actual haunted house! Even though I wasn't the biggest fan of them I still went with my friends. I would always end up screaming the whole way through the maze. One year, I was screaming and some of the people that worked for the haunted house started touching me. So you know, I started screaming even more! I then found out that those were my friends from grammar school and they were helping out. Ever since then, my friends would not let go of how much I screamed! I haven't been to one in awhile, so maybe next year I'll give it a shot! Happy Halloween everyone! If anyone has too much candy, just find me :)

Is it Friday yet?

Image
This is my mood 24/7 because of school! With all this homework and studying, I barely sleep. Everyday I tell myself that I'm going to start my homework and go to bed early..... but.... it always ends up like this, I finish my classes, I eat, and nap. I always take too long of naps and regret it. Because of that I stay up so late every night and can barely wake up. It's only Sunday and I already want it to be Friday! How am I going to survive this week ??!?!!?

Framework

The article I picked is called "The phenomenon of students' violence at Hail University: Prevalence, causes, and suggested solutions from the students' perspective." Link: http://www.academicjournals.org/journal/IJPC/article-full-text-pdf/621B01166157 Main point : Violence problems at Hail University, and solutions from students' perspectives. Abstract : There was a three part questionnaire that included 100 females and 100 males that were picked randomly from Hail University. This research came to a conclusion that from the students' perspectives, verbal violence followed by physical violence were the popular ways of describing violence. It was stated that females and males have different opinions about what causes violence. The students from Hail University came up with solutions to reduce violence on campus. Introduction :  Many types of violence has started in this world without discrimination. "Violence leads to serious social, psychologica

Baptism

Image
This weekend, on Saturday, my cousin's baby, Jakub, was baptized. It was beautiful ceremony for our little cute. He's so cute! The whole time he was smiling and drooling, such a calm baby. When the priest poured the holy water on his forehead, he didn't even cry! He just looked at the priest so calmly. Even though it was beautiful day for Jakub, it was soo bad out! The rain was horrible. It rained so much Saturday that the streets were getting flooded. But it was a great weekend with the familia again. Here's a picture of baby Jakub and I, and another picture of me and my cousin. We thought that it was so cute outside that we risked going in the rain, well it was only drizzling at that moment, so we took the opportunity to take a cute picture.

Fall Break

Image
Fall Break was much needed. I got to spend time with my family and friends that I haven't seen in awhile. Fall Break was 4 days and it flew by so quickly! During break I hung out with my friends almost everyday, which made me realize how much I miss them! I also go to see one my close friend's (Dylan) puppy named Marley. He's only 12 weeks old and keeps getting bigger and bigger so fast. He is the cutest ever! But seriously, I've never seen such a calm and friendly puppy! I got to see Marley everyday, one of the highlights of my Fall Break! Another fun time was seeing another close friend from high school, Brendan. The last time I saw him was in July before I went to Poland. When I came back he was already started his freshman year of college so didn't get to see him. So seeing him and catching up after a few months was really nice. Today we had a BBQ and it was the best! I love when my dad grills, and I've been craving it so much while I'm here in college.

Family

Image
On Sunday I went to Bloomingdale where my family lives. We celebrated my Aunt's and Uncle's 20th Anniversary. My Aunt was telling me how I was at the wedding too and how I was dancing. I didn't realize at that moment that I actually was at the wedding but in mom's belly. So my Aunt was right I was there.   I got to see my cousins again that I didn't see since Labor Day weekend. I also got to see my cousin's baby that I haven't seen since he was born. It's been only 3 months he's gotten so big and sooooo cute! I really enjoyed my Sunday with my family and cousins. Spending time with my family is always a fun time. I think it is important that people have a good relationship with their families. The picture on top is of me and my two cousins, Karolina and Monika. It's always a great time with these two even though we barely see each other. The picture underneath is of my cousins baby, Kubus. Kubus is a nickname for Jakub in polish. Seeing this l

Catching up with Nathalie

This weekend was filled with wild adventures and a lot of memories. My friend, Nathalie, decided to come and visit me at Lewis for one night. I haven't seen her in almost a year, so it was nice to finally see her! I showed her around campus and she said she really liked it. She said she liked being surrounded by nature and such welcoming people. That night, I took her to meet some friends of mine. We had a great time laughing and making new friends. By the end of the night, we lost track of time, so we said bye to all of our friends and started heading back to campus. We stayed up almost all night catching up about what is new in our lives and how we got to the point where we are today. Needless to say, it's nice catching up with people you haven't talked to in a while. So maybe text a friend, it might be worth it :)

Sunday = Fun-day/Bum-day

Image
Sunday. I have two thoughts about Sundays. They are either fun or bummy, it just depends on my mood and day. Yesterday was a mixer of both actually. It started off with waking up late, getting to sleep in. ( p.s. i love to sleep ). Cleaning my side of the room a little bit and showering. I basically woke up in a okay kind of mood. At around 2 my parents and brother came in the see me. They still haven't seen my dorm because either they were busy or had work. I was really glad they came to see and that I got to see my brother. I miss my brother, he's so cute. I miss when he would annoy me all summer. We went to Texas Roadhouse, I ate soo good. I got so full so quickly that when my food came, I couldn't finish. But that's okay because now I have leftovers, and they will be amazing. Also I really recommend going to Texas Roadhouse if you never been there, great place! After having a great lunch with my parents, I came back to my dorm and took a nice nap. I love naps and na

My Labor Day Weekend

Image
What does Labor Day weekend mean to you? For me, every year I go camping in Wisconsin at Castle Rock Park with my family. It's our family tradition to go, and there are no ifs ands or buts, we have to go. When I was younger I used to love going camping and I still do, but there was a phase when I didn't really want to go. When I was young I loved going because I got to see my cousins and camping was just so much fun in general. But once I got a little bit older I always wanted to stay home and have the whole house to myself. And then when I got older I wanted to go but I barely went because I had work. This year, I decided to drive up for at least one night. I got to see my cousins, aunts, uncles, that I haven't seen since the beginning of summer. My family lives in the suburbs, so we only see each other on holidays, birthdays, and sometimes for random family parties. Seeing everyone and being with them made me so happy. Playing games, having a campfire, dancing, laughi
